Pro rata £25,116 to £26,227 dependent on experience and qualification

28 hours per week 

The Well Women Centre is delighted to have been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund which will allow us to grow, develop and enhance our casework and counselling provision over the next 3 years. This project, Positive Impact Plus (PIP), will support women in Wakefield with multiple and complex needs and will enhance our ability to promote partnership working and the efficacy of multi-disciplinary care.

We are recruiting a qualified Counsellor to work on this project to provide therapy for women that have often experienced trauma that has continued to influence and impact on their ongoing relationships and lives. This project and the PIP Counsellor will enhance our ability to provide and promote gender specific support for women and will have a focus on reaching out to women that find it difficult to come forward for support.

The PIP Counsellor will be supported by the Counselling Team Leader and our wider counselling and casework teams. This role offers an opportunity to someone who is experienced in offering integrative and trauma focused therapy for clients that have navigated complicated and distressing life events. In this role you will offer brief and medium term 1;1 therapeutic interventions. You will contribute to a seamless pathway within the centre for an internal referral when a woman has reached a stable enough point to address her historic or traumatic experience.
